IT HAS BEEN HELD THE FIRST MEETING OF THE STAKEHOLDERS’ COMMITTEE IN VINNYTSIA, UKRAINE

Vinnytsia Regional Association of Local Self-Government Bodies together with Vinnytsia Regional Development Agency have held the first meeting of the Stakeholders’ Committee within the framework of the international project “Joint Organization to Unite Rural Networks of Entrepreneurial Youth – JOURNEY”, coordinated by the Association, on November, 11.

Representatives of self-governments and executive authorities of Vinnytsia region (in particular – specialized structural divisions of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration, ALCs, etc.), representatives of business, youth and business organizations took part in the meeting of the Stakeholders’ Committee.

At the beginning of the meeting the Director of Vinnytsia Regional Development Agency Nataliia Hyzhko informed the participants about the objective of the meeting and also noted the importance of the project indicating that the project «Joint Organization to Unite Rural Networks of Entrepreneurial Youth” – “JOURNEY” is implemented by the coordinator – Vinnytsia Regional Association of Local Self-Government Bodies within the framework of the European Union Program Erasmus+ in partnership with other organizations: “ALDA” (Association of Local Democracy Agencies), France, Vinnytsia Regional Development Agency, Ukraine, Social Trust Foundation – PUBLICA FIDES (Fundacja Zaufania Społecznego – PUBLICA FIDES), Poland, “FORMA.Azione” srl, Italy, Kutaisi City Hall, namely Department of International Relations and International Projects, Georgia, “LOCAL DEMOCRACY AGENCY (LDA), Georgia, “Ganja European Youth Capital 2016” Public Union, Azerbaijan.

1Olha Oliinyk – Coordinator of the project, Deputy Head of the Secretariat, Head of the Center for communications, external relations and fundraising of VRALSGB, presented the project indicating its purpose, objectives and main activities. Then Mrs. Olha paid attention to the presentation of the results and achievements of the project, and highlighted the role of the Stakeholders’ Committee in the creation and activities of the Clubs of Young Entrepreneurs that will be created within the project, and ensuring formation of a business-sector to support youth entrepreneurship in Vinnytsia region in general.

“Our project will not solve all problems related to unemployment in rural areas but it will be a small push, confident step to their solution” – the coordinator of the project Olha Oliinyk emphasized at the end of her speech.

The main issues related to the project’s implementation including the training of potential young entrepreneurs from rural areas were further discussed. The members of the Committee expressed their opinions and made suggestions.

Thus, Regional Development Advisor of Vinnytsia Center for Local SelfGovernment Yurii Voitsitskyi expressed his vision on identifying promising communities to create Clubs of Young Entrepreneurs, noting that these should be economically capable communities with active population.

Inna Zelenytsia – chief specialist of the Division for Regulatory Policy and Administrative Services of the Department of International Cooperation and Regional Development of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration, noted the need of such direction of training for potential young entrepreneurs as a regulatory policy. She also proposed to place project information on legislative aspects to resolve issues related to launching and running own business on the training webplatform of the project.

PhD of Economic Sciences, Docent, Secretary of the Academic Council and Methodical Commission of the Faculty for Management and Information Security of Vinnytsia National Economic University Liliia Nikiforova made proposals regarding the dissemination of information about the web-platform and training materials that will be placed there among the student youth of Vinnytsia region.

All proposals from the members of the Committee gathered during the discussion will be systematized and adapted to the project’s implementation plan.

Information on Stakeholders’ Committee (SC)

Stakeholders’ Committee (SC) is set up to involve to the project participants who are not the members of partner organizations in the project but they are ready to promote the activities of the Clubs of Young Entrepreneurs– https://journeyeplus.eu/uk/entrepreneurs-ukraina. Namely: local self-governments and executive authorities of Vinnytsia region (in particular – profile structural divisions of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration, ALCs and others), representatives of business, youth and business organizations, politicians, etc.

Within the framework of the project it is planned to organize and hold at least 3 meetings of the Committee. Tasks of the Stakeholders’ Committee within the framework of the project (objective):

 supporting rural youth in particular the project’s participants by providing upto-date information (legislation and changes to it, current local and national support programs, local projects, etc.);

 expanding opportunities for rural youth (who will be trained on the JOURNEY online platform and receive a relevant qualification) including financial opportunities to implement innovative and promising business ideas;

 supporting project’s implementation and dissemination of the activities’ results at all stages;

 joint development of proposals and changes to local, regional and national programs as well as strategies;

 promoting proposals and changes at local, regional and national levels;

 supporting creation of the Clubs of Young Entrepreneurs in Vinnytsia region;

 preparing an analysis of actual opportunities and obstacles facing rural youth.
